George Gerdes begins filming "Buckaroo" this month. The gripping tale of a troubled youth headed for a life of crime who, by a detour of grace, gets sent to a Colorado cattle ranch. There the boy gets to meet a couple of real, down to earth cowboys, "Chalker" and "Wolf," who become both guides and teachers in finding a path not only on the open range but in the wide open spaces of life itself.
George plays "Chalker" a sunburned and weathered rodeo veteran who rides tall in the saddle and is ever ready with a helping hand, good natured sense of humor and homespun sagebrush philosophy. Others in the cast include Lindsey Wagner, Gary Busey, Frank Gorshin and Simon Baker III. The film is being directed by James A. Brooks from an original screenplay by Bob Holland. Executive Producer, Greg Shelton, has slated "Buckaroo" for an early Autumn release.
